Why Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge
Pacaya Samiria
Amazon Lodge it is the only Lodge located 15 minutes by boat from the entrance
to the largest ecological reserve in Peru, the
Pacaya Samiria
National Reserve,
the most important
destination for eco-tourism, adventure tourism, bird watching, for biologists,
entomologists and nature lovers in general.
Pacaya Samiria
National Reserve is located in the northern jungle of Peru,
280 Km from
Iquitos,
a city of five hundred thousand inhabitants, with all
amenities, facilities and nightlife to accommodate tourists
from around the world.
Because it is a comfortable and rested journey: After flying
90 minutes from Lima to Iquitos, we pick you up from the
Iquitos airport. We travel 90 Km (1h 15') on the new Iquitos
- Nauta highway in a private comfortable passenger vehicle.
In the port of Nauta we will embark on our own boats, roofed
with padded seats and life jackets for all passengers. There
we begin our tourism journey according to your own personal
selected programs.
Because stays in the Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge are
delightful: 5 hectares of gardens and ponds located at the
bank of the beautiful Marañón river. Pacaya Samira Lodge has
an amazing total area of 130 hectares in which we had
implemented paths that takes the visitor to the virgin
forest.
Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge has a Club House, dining room,
bar, game rooms and hammocks, 8 independent bungalows for
two or three person occupancy, with private terraces and
incorporated tiled bathrooms all isolated from the outside
with mosquito nettings. We have electricity and covered
roofs for protection in case of rain. The kitchen offers
regional dishes, and upon request special dietary meals.
Because, we visit the place, where the Amazon River’s born:
From Nauta we sail on the Marañón river for about 30' until
we arrive to the place where the Marañón and Ucayali rivers
meet, the location where the immense Amazon river is born.
From a 30 meter lookout tower, we are able to take stunning
photos and videos of the greatest fast-flowing river in the
world.
Because our tours are conducted by visiting the vast Pacaya
Samiria National Reserve: With 2.8 million hectares
it’s the largest and the most important ecological reserve
in Peru. It has the largest bio-diverse eco-system
confirmed by many numerous scientific studies conducted
there. It is one of the few places in Peru where you can
view mammals, pink dolphins, primates in their natural
habitat. The reserve is the habitat of 467 species of birds
properly catalogued and a paradise for bird watchers. You
can choose the exclusive option to stay overnight tours,
whether in camps or in a shelter in the deepest part of the
virgin forest of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
